SummerBridge Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and motivated student (must be between ages 18 to 30 years) to help coordinate and support service projects that align with our church’s mission. This role offers hands-on experience in community engagement, project coordination and social justice while making a meaningful impact.
Position details
- A 12-week program starting on June 3rd to August 26th
- Work at church from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM from Tuesday to Friday, and Sunday during church and youth services. Possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
- Bi-weekly meetings and reporting with Pastor Chung.
- Must attend a 4-day Mennonite Central Committee conference in June.
- Compensation: $17.20/hour for 35 hours/week
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Support
- Prepare weekly Sunday service agendas, Google slide presentations and monitoring it during service.
- Prepare weekly Sunday service agendas, Google slide presentations and monitoring it during service.
- Youth and Young Adults
- Build relationships and network strategies by joining with other youth groups for joint fellowship and Bible study.
- Prepare weekly Bible lessons and plan events to inspire spiritual growth.
- Christian Education Department
- Design and deliver weekly mini lessons for “Children’s Prayer time” during worship service for the summer months (July and August).
- Coordinate and run a summer program for kids on the theme of justice and peace.
- Assist with Kids camp in August.
- Visitation Care with Pastor (hospital visit / home visit)
- Will accompany the Pastor and Elder(s) on visits to congregational members.
Note: Job tasks may be subject to modification depending on the needs of the community and the gifts that the individual will bring.
